 — He will turn the heart of fathers to their sons

My children are playing a game
that’s actually a creative way
to injure three people at once.

A bungee cord.
Six clothes hangers.
A mini-trampoline.

Excuse me, I need to stop them,

but before I do,
thank You for slowly turning
my heart back to my children,

away from the wages of depression.

Thank You for calling me back
from the edge of anger and panic.

One day, I’ll tell them.

How miracles don’t always
happen in an instant.

The little miracles
are like cracks in my windshield:

the initial impact growing
wider and deeper with time,

until I will dream of nothing,
but You and this life I’ve been given.
